Check Point Software, MyRepublic Broadband, Partner to Secure Singapore’s SMEs

Securing Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses with AI-Powered Email Protection

Check Point Software Technologies, a pioneer and global leader in cyber security solutions, recently announced a strategic partnership with MyRepublic Business/Broadband (MR), a leading digital telecommunications provider, to launch a joint solution, “MyRepublic (MR) Email Guard” as a service.

This collaboration brings enterprise-grade email security to Singapore’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with plug-and-play deployment, and ongoing administration, management, and support by MyRepublic, eliminating the need for SMEs to hire a dedicated cyber security team. The service is specifically designed to address the rising volume of sophisticated phishing and Business Email Compromise (BEC) attacks targeting the local business sector. The partnership between Check Point Software Technologies and MyRepublic is more than a technology collaboration—it is a strategic step towards strengthening Singapore’s digital foundation. This is because when SMEs are secure, they grow, and when they grow, they hire, innovate, and expand.

Addressing the Surge in AI-Driven Phishing

The launch comes at a critical time as the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) pushes for enhanced baseline cyber hygiene under the Cyber Essentials (2025) framework. According to the Singapore Cyber Landscape 2024/2025 report, phishing attacks in Singapore surged by 49% in 2024 alone, with 12% of those cases utilising AI-generated content to bypass traditional filters.

As the primary channel for business communication, email remains the most exploited vector for social engineering. With a single BEC potentially costing local firms millions in damages, MR Email Guard as a Service serves as a vital ‘email shield’ in front of existing cloud email platforms (Microsoft O365 and Google G Suite). Modern threats rapidly convert minor human errors, such as clicking a suspicious link, into major incidents, including data breaches and fraudulent transactions. MR Email Guard as a Service addresses this by automating safeguards and blocking sophisticated identity spoofing and malicious attachments in real time before they reach the user’s inbox.

Bridging the SME Security Gap with Check Point

While large corporations often have dedicated security teams, Singapore’s SMEs frequently face three major hurdles: a shortage of specialist manpower, technical complexity, and the high cost of enterprise-grade solutions/tools. MR Email Guard as a Service removes these barriers by offering:

  • Managed Service by MyRepublic: Designed for business owners with limited IT support but no cyber security skills, the package includes professional setup, configuration, administration, and ongoing management by MyRepublic.
  • Enterprise-Grade Security at SME-Friendly Price: Built on the Check Point Email Security platform, a consistent leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™. Check Point Email Security uses advanced AI to detect subtle indicators of phishing and zero-day threats.
  • Seamless Integration: Fully compatible with and designed to protect Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace using a non-intrusive API-based approach that enables rapid deployment without disrupting existing workflows.

“Email remains the primary entry point for cyberattacks,” said Rebecca Law, Country Manager, Singapore at Check Point Software Technologies. “Our partnership with MyRepublic ensures SMEs in Singapore have access to the same prevention-first, AI-powered security that protects the world’s largest enterprises and smaller organisations.”

“In today’s digital economy, robust cyber security is a baseline requirement for business continuity,” said Lawrence Chan, Managing Director & Chief AI Officer at MyRepublic. “Check Point is a leader in email security, blocking over 99.8% of threats. With this collaboration, we are democratising world-class protection, ensuring Singapore’s SMEs can defend themselves against AI-driven threats without the enterprise-level price tag, or the need for an in-house 24/7 security operations centre (SOC).”

Immediate Availability

A first step in SMEs’ cyber security essential journey, MR Email Guard as a Service will be officially available from 2 April 2026 for all Singapore-based SMEs. This package includes onboarding consisting of full setup, configuration, weekly/monthly reporting, Security Assessment, and add-on ongoing management by MyRepublic SOC/expert cyber security experts.
