How to Gain Public Trust in the Digital Payment Ecosystem? Address Security Issues First

As societies go cashless in this digital age, the expanding role of e-wallets cannot be emphasised enough—nor can the security issues that come with using them. Unfortunately, there are plenty, and these security issues could hinder more widespread adoption of e-wallets in particular, and erode public trust in the digital payment ecosystem in general.

Addressing these security issues can be daunting, but it is necessary, as it is the only way people will fully embrace the cashless future. Cardtrend, along with the Malaysian government, is taking on this challenge, with the multipronged goal of keeping e-wallet users safe and secure, winning over the public’s trust in the digital payment ecosystem, and ushering in a truly cashless future for Malaysia.

Cyber Security ASEAN recently had the privilege of speaking with Cardtrend CEO Mr Derek about e-wallets and the digital payment ecosystem in general. In this exclusive interview, he outlined the biggest security issues related to using e-wallets and going digital and discussed the various steps Cardtrend is taking to address these issues, along with the technologies it is using. He also emphasised the role the Malaysian government is playing in addressing these same issues and in driving Malaysia towards a cashless future.
