TRYZUB: New Cyber Readiness Training from the Frontlines of Cyberwarfare

CYBER RANGES, a cyber simulation-based, synthetic training platform, has introduced TRYZUB, a new service which offers training experience from the trenches of the first-ever cyberwar. This unique access offers the opportunity to engage in real-world scenarios that reflect the most advanced threats. It is aimed to help protect the military, government, and critical infrastructure, such as hospitals, finance, energy infrastructure, schools, and the telecom industry, from advanced cyber threats.

TRYZUB brings together a trident of experience sharing, hands-on performance, and preparedness validation, empowering military, government, and critical infrastructure stakeholders to unite in the global fight against cyber threats.

The next-gen cyber range scenarios for TRYZUB were developed by CERT-UA which is a part of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSSCIP). Both partners are committed to sharing complex, real-life threat intelligence in an innovative way, going beyond information-sharing and training to deliver deep-dive, engaging, hands-on cyberdrill-grade experiences in the safe sandbox environment.

The current Russian war in Ukraine is referred to as the first-ever cyberspace war. Nowadays, the country faces the highest levels of cyberattacks and cyber crime in the world. However, cyber threats are not limited to Ukraine as they have occurred globally, impacting the U.S. and European countries. Cyber insecurity is ranked as the 4th most severe risk over the next 2 years and the 8th most severe over the next 10 years, according to the Global Risks Report 2024 by the World Economic Forum.

TRYZUB: Timely and Necessary

The TRYZUB events offer participants the role of a cybersecurity team facing cyber incidents of Gamaredon and Sandworm threat actors and related hacker groups. For over a decade they have targeted sectors such as defense, communications, energy, finance, food, government, IT, transportation, and water.
CYBER RANGES Corp.’s global team has delivered world-class cybersecurity training and capability development exercises for two decades.

“What if we could safely put our organisation through a real cyberattack, with real malware and artifacts and have that attack unfold in a high-fidelity sandbox environment where we can observe our teams respond to it?” asked Dr Al Graziano, CEO at CYBER RANGES. “What if we could experience the attack without the negative impact and play and replay it at will until our team has developed the necessary muscle memory to deal with it in the field? What if, besides the IoCs and threat information, we would actually timely share the experience of dealing with the actual attack among our allies? Well, we have done it!”

Practice on the TRYZUB scenarios will be of particular benefit for government and law-enforcement agencies as well as critical network operators (hospitals, finance, energy infrastructure, schools, and the telecom industry etc.).

Participants in TRYZUB cyberdrills will also develop collaboration and coordination, fostering effective digital solidarity against threat actors and ultimately strengthening the resilience of organizations.
