Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Teams Up with Cisco for Advanced Cybersecurity Solutions in Indonesia
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, one of Indonesia’s largest telecom operators, and Cisco, a worldwide technology leader, have agreed to collaborate on bringing cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions to enterprises in Indonesia, especially small and medium businesses (SMBs) to enhance their digital resilience and security posture. Both parties agreed on the collaboration at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona as they signed a MoU at the event.
The collaboration will see Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison roll out a range of Cisco’s cybersecurity solutions in Indonesia. These include Extended Threat Detection and Response (XDR), Security Services Edge (SSE), Email Security, and Multifactor Authentication. Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison will deliver these solutions via Managed Services offerings tailored specifically for enterprises in Indonesia, especially small and medium businesses.
Businesses across the globe, including in Indonesia, are increasingly looking to adopt XDR, a cybersecurity approach that provides comprehensive threat detection, investigation, and response across multiple layers of security. It integrates various security products and data sources to give organisations a more cohesive and holistic view of their security posture. It provides organisations with a more effective way to protect against sophisticated cyber threats by breaking down the silos that typically exist between different security tools and teams.
SSE is a component of the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) framework, which combines network security functions with wide area networking (WAN) capabilities to support the dynamic, secure access needs of organizations. It helps to ensure that security is not tied to a physical location but is instead based on the identity of users and the context of their access to resources, no matter where they are or what devices they are using. This is critical in the modern business environment.
“Organizations in Indonesia are operating in a hybrid model today, driven by the pandemic where employees are working from multiple devices, across multiple locations, connecting to multiple networks and accessing a myriad of applications that are housed on multiple clouds. This has increased the cybersecurity risk for companies as they now need to ensure they can keep everyone safe all the time, without being able to predict where anyone will be logging in from at any time. At Cisco, we are committed to delivering the best solutions that help businesses tackle the cybersecurity risks in a rapidly evolving environment,” said Dave West, President, Asia- Pacific, Japan, and Greater China at Cisco.
Vikram Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, said, “As Indonesian enterprises become more digital, they are evolving their approach to cybersecurity to ensure they remain resilient in the face of growing threats. They are looking for partners who not only provide products and solutions but can also manage these in a way that can bring them together in a platform approach and help them maximise their potential. Our collaboration with Cisco aims to deliver exactly that for businesses across Indonesia.”
This announcement builds on the longstanding partnership between Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Cisco, showcasing the value they bring to businesses and communities in Indonesia. Together, the two organizations will deliver solutions that are simple, secure, and scalable addressing the critical needs of businesses in a hybrid and cloud-first business environment.
