Telkom Teams Up with F5 to Boost Cybersecurity Services in Indonesia

In response to the growing demand for digital security services in Indonesia, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has formed a strategic partnership with F5, a global multi-cloud application security and delivery company that provides cybersecurity products and services, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Telkom’s Strategic Portfolio Director, Budi Setyawan Wijaya, and F5’s Senior Vice President of APCJ, Adam Judd on 29 April 2024, Monday. (29/4).

This MoU between Telkom and F5 is focused on providing comprehensive cybersecurity services to the Indonesian market, accelerating the development and improvement of Telkom’s capabilities in the field of cybersecurity and related digital products. Telkom’s Strategic Portfolio Director, Budi Setyawan Wijaya, explained, “The Telkom – F5 strategic partnership is the reinforcement for Telkom Group’s capabilities as Indonesia’s preferred digital telco, specifically in cybersecurity. This also aligned with Telkom’s strategic program known as Five Bold Moves, for B2B Digital IT Services area.”

According to IDC’s research in 2023, the cybersecurity market’s potential in Indonesia is forecasted to reach IDR 6 trillion in 2028, with a 16.6% CAGR from 2022 to 2028. Given the growth of the digital economy and inflated demand for digital security services in Indonesia, Telkom is committed to answering these needs through its portfolio of digital connectivity, digital platforms, and digital services.

Telkom’s Director of Enterprise & Business Services, Venusiana, added, “The demand of cybersecurity in the future will be escalated along with a strengthened digital transformation campaign in Indonesia and the implementation of Personal Data Protection Act in October 2024. Thus, this strategic partnership is Telkom Group’s commitment to answering the need for reliable and trustworthy cybersecurity services.

F5, with its cybersecurity capabilities, including application and API security and multi-cloud management, will strengthen Telkom Group’s IT Services portfolio, especially in the cybersecurity space. “Leveraging Telkom’s robust infrastructure and F5’s cutting-edge technologies, we aim to pioneer innovative solutions to secure every app and API for our customers,” shared Adam Judd, Senior Vice President of APCJ, F5. “With F5’s AI-driven capabilities, our strategic partnership with Telkom not only addresses current and future cybersecurity challenges but also paves the way for new business models and revenue streams.”

This strategic collaboration between Telkom and F5 is hoped to support the Indonesian government’s efforts in strengthening Indonesia’s economy, where cybersecurity plays a crucial role in establishing a strong, secure, sovereign, and sustainable digital economy.
