Palo Alto Networks Holds Ignite on Tour Malaysia 2025, Tackles Security in the Age of AI

Palo Alto Networks Outlines the Company’s Vision for Next-Generation Cyber Defence Driven by Platforms, AI, and Shared Intelligence

Palo Alto Networks, the world’s leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) cybersecurity company, recently brought together IT and security leaders, policymakers, and industry professionals to explore the future of cybersecurity in the age of AI at its Ignite on Tour event at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur.

Kicking off with the theme “Reimagining Cybersecurity with Precision AI®,”the half-day conference featured keynote presentations, expert-led panel discussions, and hands-on breakout sessions that delved into the transformative role of artificial intelligence in threat detection, response, and enterprise innovation.

Tackling the Issue of AI and Cybersecurity

Ignite on Tour addressed the growing influence of AI on the digital threat landscape. While AI revolutionises industries by boosting efficiency, its integration also creates vulnerabilities, paving the way for increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks. Palo Alto Networks detects and blocks an average of 8.95 million new and unique attacks daily. At the same time, the speed of attacks are concerning. Palo Alto Networks’ threat intelligence team, Unit 42, reported that nearly one in five cases, data exfiltration took place within the first hour of compromise, while organisations still take seven days to detect and respond—a gap that exposes businesses to significant risk.

“Organisations cannot keep pace with modern threats by relying on disconnected tools and siloed data,” said Steven Scheurmann, Regional Vice President, ASEAN at Palo Alto Networks. “The industry needs a step-change in approach—one that brings together data, technology, and intelligence in real time, across the entire ecosystem.

Scheurmann highlighted that to stay ahead, organisations need a pivot towards a platformization approach – the integration of security technologies across the organisation to break down silos, safeguard AI initiatives, and build a coordinated defence posture.

This was echoed in Palo Alto Networks’ latest findings from the 2025 Cybersecurity Resilience in Mid-Market Organisations study, which revealed that Malaysian businesses expect the average number of core cybersecurity vendor solutions they utilise will increase from 4.5 today to 5.9 over the next two years, underscoring the need for strategic and simplified operations.

“Organisations are increasingly seeking unified platforms that enable end-to-end visibility and AI-powered analysis, from code to cloud to SOC,” Scheurmann added. “This platform-driven model will replace the legacy patchwork of point solutions that often leave security gaps and operational complexity.”
