Indeed: Cybersecurity Job Postings in Singapore Surge as AI Adoption Accelerates
Cybersecurity Job Postings Up 57% in 2025, Reversing Two Years of Slow Growth as Employers Expand Teams to Manage Artificial Intelligence-related risks

Demand for cybersecurity roles is on the rise in Singapore again after a muted period of growth between 2022 and 2024, as organisations step up efforts to secure their systems and data amid rapid AI adoption, according to new data from Indeed, a global leader in job matching and hiring. In fact, from 2024 to 2025, the volume of cybersecurity job postings on the Indeed portal rose by 57%, marking a turnaround from the stagnation observed in the previous two years. Cybersecurity job postings had increased by 9% from 2023 to 2024, barely offsetting the 8% dip recorded from 2022 to 2023.
Job seeker interest has surged in 2025, with clicks on cybersecurity postings up by 77%. Across the three-year period from 2022 to 2025, the total number of clicks climbed by nearly 140%, suggesting both heightened employer demand and job seeker confidence in the long term.
“This rebound points to a shift towards reinvestment. As companies integrate AI into everyday operations, they’re also realising the need for stronger defences,” said Indeed Spokesperson, Shannon Peter Pang. “As Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption deepens across sectors, cybersecurity has evolved from a back-end function to a core part of business resilience.”
Indeed Sees AI as a Growth Catalyst
The rapid adoption of AI is also fuelling demand for cybersecurity talent. As organisations deploy AI tools to streamline operations, they are simultaneously expanding their digital attack surface and data exposure.
This has prompted a surge in demand for professionals skilled in securing AI systems, managing data governance, and mitigating risks like model poisoning and deepfake manipulation.
According to IDC, Asia Pacific enterprises’ cybersecurity spending is projected to grow from US$44.4 billion in 2025 to USD $60.6 billion by 2028, underscoring how AI-driven threats are expected to significantly shape the next wave of cybersecurity hiring.
Top Roles and Skills in Cybersecurity
The most in-demand cybersecurity roles include cybersecurity engineers, cybersecurity specialists, cybersecurity analysts, cybersecurity consultants and cybersecurity architects. Employers are prioritising communication skills, information security standards (NIST, ISO 27001), and Python proficiency, highlighting the importance of technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration.
Outlook for 2026
While cybersecurity salaries have recently come under pressure across the tech sector, the rebound in job postings suggests sustained long-term opportunity. With ongoing digitalisation and new regulations in data protection, employers are expected to keep expanding their cybersecurity teams through 2026.
Wages for cybersecurity professionals remain highly competitive compared to other “hot” technology roles such as AI architects. The average annual base salary* for a Cybersecurity Architect in Singapore is approximately USD $129,765, significantly higher than the $55,761 average annual base salary for an AI Architect. This disparity reflects the strong demand for experienced security talent, particularly in sectors such as finance, telecommunications, and government, where data protection and compliance are critical priorities.
As organisations continue to strengthen their digital infrastructure and adopt AI technologies, the need for security expertise will remain a strategic focus through 2026 and beyond.
