Ryder Reinvents Security of Digital Assets with TapSafe Recovery
Emerging as a Cybersecurity Pioneer for the Web3 Era

As digital asset thefts surpass USD $2.1 billion in the first half of 2025, Ryder is emerging as a cybersecurity pioneer for the Web3 era. The Singapore-based company has developed Ryder One, a crypto hardware wallet that delivers crypto security in 60 seconds or less and eliminates one of the industry’s most critical vulnerabilities—the seed phrase.
At a time when 80% of crypto hacks stem from private key exploits and front-end breaches, Ryder is introducing a breakthrough recovery protocol called TapSafe. This innovation replaces fragile, single-point-of-failure recovery methods with a distributed backup system across mobile devices and NFC Recovery Tags. To restore access, users physically bring these backups together, removing the risks tied to online exposure and cloud storage.
“Self-custody has always been the promise of crypto, but for too long it’s been fragile and intimidating,” said Louise Ivan Payawal, Co-founder and CEO of Ryder. “With Ryder One, we’re making it human and secure — no seed phrases, no anxiety, just a tap-based experience anyone can use.”
Marvin Janssen, Co-Founder and CTO of Ryder, added: “We rethought recovery from the ground up. TapSafe is redundant, self-custodial, and secure by design. It’s how we prevent a single point of failure from costing someone their entire life savings.”
Backing Ryder’s mission is billionaire investor Tim Draper, Founder of Draper Associates, who led the company’s recent $3.2 million seed funding round. Draper commented, “The crypto industry needs solutions that protect users without demanding technical expertise. Ryder’s hardware wallet achieves exactly that, combining strong security with a simple, minute-or-under setup.”
Other investors include Borderless, Semantic, Smape, VeryEarly, and angels Anatoly Yakovenko (Co-founder of Solana) and Joe McCann (CEO of Asymmetric). McCann added, “Complex user interfaces create human vulnerabilities. Ryder’s design simplicity strengthens security — its usability as a defence mechanism.”
Ryder’s next phase will expand its security-driven usability model into real-world transactions through a companion app that enables tap-to-pay and secure on-the-go access to digital assets.
