Macquarie Telecom, Netskope Team Up to Strengthen Network, Cloud, AI security for Australian Organisations

Australian Managed Service Provider and Global Leader in Modern Networking and Security to Deliver Enterprise-Grade Security and Networking In a Single, Streamlined Solution

Macquarie Telecom, part of Macquarie Technology Group, and Netskope, a leader in modern security and networking for the cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) era, have announced a new partnership to simplify how Australian organisations secure and accelerate their use of data, cloud, and AI applications, improving their overall cybersecurity posture.

By integrating Netskope’s industry-leading Security Service Edge (SSE) platform with Macquarie Telecom’s software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), the collaboration makes advanced security and networking capabilities (Secure Access Service Edge, or SASE) available to more organisations, particularly as they seek to better secure networks, and adopt cloud and AI for business use.

Netskope’s platform consolidates web, data, cloud, and AI security capabilities, ensuring greater efficacy and cost savings, protecting against threats, and eliminating typical trade-offs between security and network performance.

Australian businesses have experienced sustained and significant data breaches in recent years, leading to increased cybersecurity regulation and demands on teams. By combining modern security that was designed for the cloud and AI era with the flexibility of SD-WAN technology—all managed by one partner—organisations can protect users and data wherever they go.

Netskope is IRAP-assessed at the PROTECTED level, for use within the Australian Government and critical industries, and the combined offering is able to support Australian companies working to meet the compliance criteria of SOCI (Security of Critical Infrastructure), or follow the Essential Eight framework.

“Organisations big and small are under immense pressure to strengthen their cyber defences while keeping operations simple and manageable,” said Luke Clifton, Group Executive for Macquarie Telecom. “By joining forces with Netskope, we’re giving customers a smarter, more resilient network backed by integrated, enterprise-grade security. They’re getting the best of both worlds.”

“Modern networks need to be both fast and secure, but many organisations are still having to accept trade-offs between performance and security, which result in either an inferior security posture, or a degraded user experience,” said Tony Burnside, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC at Netskope. “Networking and security consolidation is now a cornerstone of the demands of modern business, and through this partnership with Macquarie Telecom, we will help more Australian organisations unlock enhanced levels of data security, enabling agility, innovation, and competitiveness.”

Netskope, Macquarie Build on Their Commitment to World-Class Service

Macquarie Telecom and Netskope share a deep commitment to world-class customer service. Backed by its market-leading net promoter score (NPS), Macquarie Telecom is making a difference in overcharged and underserved markets. Netskope reimagined enterprise security and networking architecture specifically to ensure that elevated security did not create friction for users.

“Too often, securing users, environments, and networks comes at the cost of user experience. Netskope stands out by striking the right balance between delivering uncompromising security while ensuring performance and customer experience are prioritised,” said Clifton. “Together, we’re not only delivering best-in-class protection, but also the ability to maintain the excellent user experiences we’re known for. That’s what sets this partnership apart.”

Netskope—recognised as a Leader for the fourth year in a row in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Security Service Edge—already maintains a strong partnership with Macquarie Telecom’s sister sovereign government cloud and security company, Macquarie Government, with the companies delivering SASE technology to federal government customers.
