7.6% Drop in Scam Calls Spurs Expanded National Effort as PDRM, Whoscall Target 1 Million More Malaysians
J&T Express Supports Scam Free Malaysia Campaign

Following early signs of progress in reducing scam calls across Malaysia, Whoscall is proud to announce the return of its nationwide anti-scam initiative, Scam Free Malaysia 2025, in continued partnership with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). This year’s campaign gains further strength with J&T Express Malaysia joining as a supporting partner.
Together, the organisations aim to distribute 1 million free one-year Whoscall Premium subscriptions to Malaysians, reinforcing digital safety and rising scam awareness across the country.
According to Whoscall data, total scam-tagged calls dropped by 7.6% from January to April 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, a sign that public awareness and collaborative prevention efforts are beginning to pay off. This positive trend is further motivation for Whoscall and its partners to step up their efforts and maintain momentum.
Whoscall Provides Innovative Anti-Scam Solutions
Whoscall, a mobile anti-scam app endorsed by PDRM, delivers a 360° anti-scam solution that evolves with technology to stay ahead of scammers. Beyond identifying unknown calls and blocking spam, the app offers advanced tools designed for today’s digital threats. Its newly introduced Content Checker instantly detects threats from screenshots, while Auto-Web Checker flags malicious URLs in real-time to help users avoid phishing links. The ID Security Check also alerts users of potential data breaches involving their phone numbers, enabling quick, preventive action.
“This campaign is more than a giveaway—it’s a movement,” said Woon Chin Yong, Country Marketing Lead of Gogolook in Malaysia. “Scammers are becoming more advanced by the day, and so must our defences. Whoscall equips Malaysians with AI-driven tools to detect scams in ways even the human eye can’t—from Content Checker to Auto-Web Checker to live scam alerts, users can CHECK-ALL with just one click. Whoscall’s latest feature, the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Powered Content Checker, allows users to instantly check if they are dealing with a scam with just a screenshot. In addition to identifying the scam, the feature provides a detailed explanation of why it’s a scam and whether there are related news articles or reports that could help users explain the situation to others.”
Yong added: Our long-standing partnership with PDRM allows us to strengthen real-time detection through a shared scam database from PDRM CCID Semak Mule, while the addition of J&T Express Malaysia expands public outreach. In today’s digital world, downloading Whoscall is no longer optional. It’s a vital step for staying safe online.”
J&T Express Malaysia, one of the nation’s leading logistics providers, has come on board as a supporting partner in Scam Free Malaysia 2025, expanding the campaign’s reach and enhancing scam awareness. The logistics giant will actively promote the initiative across its website, social media, and internal channels.
“At J&T, we are deeply committed to safeguarding the interests of our customers, business partners, and employees. With scams increasingly targeting both individuals and businesses, we recognise the importance of taking proactive steps to raise awareness and protect our community. By supporting this campaign, we aim to inform the public about the risks through our channels and provide actionable guidance to help prevent such scams. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering a safe, secure environment and strengthening our collective resilience,” said Jacky Hu, Public Affairs Manager of J&T Express Malaysia.
